Gate Charity Organizes Charitable Campaign for Victims of 2023 Turkey-Syria Earthquake…
On December 26, 2023, Gate Charity teamed up with the Champion Angels Association and several Turkish influencers to raise awareness for the tragic story of the Champion Angels Team, a volleyball team from the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus that was unfortunately caught in the 2023 Turkey-Syria earthquake.
The Champion Angel Team is a group of 39 people, including students, parents, and teachers, from the Turkish Maarif College in Northern Cyprus. They were on a trip in Turkey when the earthquake struck, resulting in 24 athletes, six parents, and five teachers losing their lives, with only four surviving.
In memory of the victims and survivors, Gate Charity organized a social media campaign to raise awareness and funding to support the work of the Champion Angels Association, a charitable association supporting education-oriented programs, the construction of new and safe schools, scholarships, and activities to promote student success.
Collaborating with various influencers, the campaign was shared across several popular social media accounts, gathering support for the Champion Angel Association and upholding the memory of the victims. In addition, Gate Charity provided a monetary donation to the association.
In early February 2023, a devastating earthquake hit the Turkish and Syrian regions, destroying entire cities and towns and causing an unimaginable humanitarian crisis. In response, Gate Charity donated nearly 1 million Turkish Lira towards humanitarian aid and partnered with World Vision to provide hygiene supplies to those who were made homeless by the event.
Through both traditional and blockchain-based methods, Gate Charity will continue to support humanitarian crises and other important causes worldwide. In addition, Gate Charity encourages others to join the campaign and support victims of the devastating event.
